With over 96 miles of private water to fish, Estancia Tecka Lodge established in 1910 as a working sheep ranch is set over 435,000 acres and is one of the most impressive fly fishing properties in South America.
With the stunning Andes mountain range providing amazing scenery throughout, the Estancia Tecka Lodge has a variety of private access freestone rivers and spring creeks providing some of the best fly fishing in the world.
Large numbers of trout daily are not uncommon with Brown, Rainbow and Brook trout all available from drift boats or on foot, while accommodation is available at two fine lodges with fantastic hospitality, food and wine.
Estancia Tecka Lodge can cater for up-to eighteen anglers over two lodges which are located at either end the property, providing exclusive access to different waters of the estancia. Tecka Lodge can accommodate up to eight anglers while Caridad Lodge which is located around 45 minutes away by the Corcovado River, has six large rooms to cater up-to ten guests in either twin-share or double occupancy configuration.
Lodging is typically over seven nights, with full board provided including traditional Argentinian and international fare, large communal dining, wine cellar with impeccable hospitality and service. A fully stocked bar with a variety of spirits and cocktails are also available, including fireplace, lounge areas and stunning views across the property. Once a week a traditional Argentinian Asado is provided with an assortment of barbequed meats from the ranch, with fresh fruits and an assortment of cereals and breads available each morning for breakfast before starting your day.
Fly fishing Estancia Tecka provides exclusive access to a huge amount of water with 70 kilometres available on the crystal clear Corcovado river which is accessed by comfortable drift boats, with over a dozen access points.
The slightly smaller Rio Tecka has around 55kms of beautiful, winding spring creek access to fish on foot, both with large populations of Brown, Rainbow and Brook trout averaging 2-4lbs with many larger fish also available on good hatches.
Fishing a variety of dries, nymphs and wet flies, typical outfits used are 5-6wt rods with floating lines on a 2:1 guide basis. Access times to the river are typically fifteen minutes to an hour with days organised around your fishing preferences each day.
Direct flights are available from Australia to South America via Santiago, Chile or Auckland direct to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Staying overnight in the seductive Buenos Aires you will connect through to a midday flight the following day.
Daily domestic flights are available six days per week to Esquel, which takes approximately two and a half hours.
Travel time on arrival to the lodge is a scenic two hours by private transfer.
Citizens of Australia, New Zealand, the UK do not require a visa for travel of up to ninety days. You will need a passport with no less than 6 months validity from the date of arrival. A stamped arrival card will be issued on completion for up-to ninety days.
