Director of Fly Odyssey Australia, “Jimmy” lives for Fly Fishing and Travel. When not at the desk, he leads and guides numerous hosted group trips around the world to destinations such as French Polynesia, Colombia, Kiritimati, Cook Islands, Cuba, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Well organised, his relaxed, but attentive and professional approach to our clients both on and off the water ensures that they are in good hands, while also placing an emphasis on teaching and guiding to ensure a memorable and enjoyable Fly Fishing holiday.
Based near Melbourne, James has been fly fishing throughout Australia and the world since first picking up a fly rod and learning the craft in Scotland more than 25 years ago. His love of the marine environment lead to an Honors degree in Aquatic Science including Dive master and tourism roles on the Great Barrier Reef, while also embracing working with local communities in the Pacific on fisheries conservation projects and the development of the Island Initiative.
