For small parties wanting to have a prime Salmon river all to themselves, The Hrutafjardara River won’t disappoint. Situated on Iceland’s north-west coast, this private river is also located close to many other well-known rivers.
For this reason, it should be on the bucket list of all Salmon anglers considering a fishing trip to Iceland.
There is a self-catering lodge that is situated on the lower part of the Hrutafjardara River and has lovely views across the river. It is a great place to relax after a day’s fishing. This is a very private and exclusive location to fish and, if prefer solitude in the Icelandic wilderness, then this is a river that should be at the top of your list.
The lodge contains 4 twin-bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a sitting room with a fireplace. There is also plenty of room for fishing-gear and to dry clothing.
Whilst the lodge is self-catering, outside caterers and guides can be arranged at additional costs.
WIFI is available in the lodge, but you will need to bring your own laptop or tablet.
