Located on the remote and scenic shores of the Alagnak River, you’ll find one of the best wilderness fishing retreats: Alaska Trophy Adventure Lodge. Stretching over 160 acres of river frontage, the lodge is in the ideal spot on the most iconic part of the river, colloquially referred to as the Upper Braids.
The lodge can only be accessed by bush plane. But while its private airstrip is the only way to get in or out, the remote location provides the opportunity to enjoy fishing surrounded by wild, untouched nature. At the end of the day, you can return to the lodge to enjoy all its comforts.
The best time for King Salmon Fishing is late June and July, while Silver Salmon, Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden can be encountered in the months of August and September.
Alaska Trophy Adventure Lodge is located at the very spot where, for millennia, native Americans spent the summers catching Salmon to sustain them over the long winters.
This incredible riverfront location on the banks of the Alagnak river provides an ideal location to fish and take in all the sights of a wilderness trip to Alaska. Fly Odyssey can arrange dedicated fly fishing trips to the lodge, as well as bespoke non-fishing packages incorporating glacier viewing, wildlife watching, photography and sea kayaking.
The welcoming wooden cabins are equipped with comfortable beds, running water, heating and power so that you can relax after an incredible day of fishing on the river.
With the highest population of Brown Bears in the world, the Katmai National Park is one of the most prized destinations for wildlife viewing in Alaska, particularly for seeing large Brown Bears feeding on fresh run Salmon.
You can stay either in the main lodge or in one of the riverside cabins which are perfect for small groups or families.
There is internet at Trophy Adventure Lodge Lodge.
Bristol Bay is world-renowned for its huge run of Pacific Salmon. The Alagnak River puts you right in front of this large run of fish. Salmon season starts the 25th June and peaks through July and August.
The lodge has a variety of options to target King Salmon with Chrome Fish early on the Nushagak or sight-fishing these amazing fish right in front of the lodge in late July.
The wild rainbow trout fishing on the Alagnak is also world-class. Fish in the three to five pound range in weight are common and they fish best early and late in the season. There are plenty of opportunities to target Grayling, Dolly Varden and all the Pacific Salmon species during a stay at Alaska Trophy Adventure Lodge.
We recommend all guests should take their own fly fishing equipment and spinning tackle if they prefer. There is conventional spinning tackle at the lodge which is available for use by guests. Access to the fishing is by Sled jet boats, drift boats or floatplane. All fishing is ‘Catch-and-Release’ as well as guided.
Trophy Adventure Lodge is a thirty-minute flight from King Salmon.
